Back to open roles

About the role

Riders positioned near facility windows occasionally observe birds. Even brief visual engagement can reduce cadence and create measurable output degradation across an otherwise healthy rack.

The Ornithological Risk Manager owns bird-related visibility, distraction and facility-exposure controls across DK-Copenhagen-1.

The birds do not report to you, which is the core operational challenge of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Map facility sightlines, seasonal bird activity and rider stations with elevated visual exposure.
  • Develop mitigations using glazing, blinds, station orientation, landscaping and scheduling.
  • Investigate bird-related cadence events and distinguish causal observation from coincidental fatigue.
  • Maintain incident records by species, duration, rack and estimated wattage impact.
  • Ensure that mitigation measures comply with applicable wildlife and building requirements.

Minimum qualifications

  • Five or more years of environmental risk, facilities management, operational compliance or related experience.
  • Strong incident-analysis and cross-functional program-management skills.
  • Ability to influence external stakeholders who do not recognize company reporting structures.
  • Comfort working near both bicycles and birds.

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in ornithology, wildlife management, airport wildlife control or bird-safe building design.
  • Experience managing persistent stakeholder noncompliance without disciplinary authority.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage for eligible employees
  • Retirement plan
  • Paid time off subject to regional capacity coverage
  • Nightly biological maintenance window
  • On-site showers and towel service
  • Electrolytes during facility shifts
  • Nutritionally diverse workplace inputs
  • Role-specific personal protective equipment
  • Bicycle fitting for employees assigned to production-adjacent work
  • No meetings while actively producing above 160 BPM
